Ponte de Faro

Overview

R5e Consulting Engineers , winner of an International Public Competition for the project of a a new bridge and accesses to Faro Beach, in the aim of Programa Polis Litoral Ria Formosa, integrated in Natural Park of Ria Formosa. Relating this project we also develop a car park and a rehabilitation of the access road to the bridge.
The solution is composed by bored and cast-in-situ piles connected on top by a transversal beams. This beams supports pre-cast concrete beams T-shape that materialize the bridge deck. Laterally, there is arches in steel structure connected to the bridge through the piles/colunns and to the deck.
