Doorm Residence

We developed the structures, foundations and retaining structures of the new student’s residence DOORM, located in Santos area, in Lisbon. The structural solution was design to accomplish with the architectural program and with the contingencies in the access to the site, the reason why we opted for a solutions of Steel Structure.
The structure of the new building was conceived to, in provisional phase, contain the façade. This way was achieved a more competitive solution comparing to a traditional concrete structure. In this building was also adopted an innovative method to calculate the safety of the structure in fire situation based on the membrane effect in composite slabs, which allowed a cost safe about 30% in firefighting protection of the steel structure.
